PTA SIM Verification
Learn how to check all SIMs registered on your CNIC via PTA SIM Information System , SMS 668).
What Is PTA
SIM Verification?
PTA SIM verification is the process of checking how many mobile SIMs are registered on your CNIC and whether they comply with PTA rules using the official SIM Information System (668). This system helps you see all active SIMs per operator (Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone, etc.) and identify any numbers you never bought or used.
How to Check SIMs
on Your CNIC
SIM Limits per
CNIC (PTA Rule)
PTA enforces a maximum of 5 voice SIMs per CNIC (plus a limited number of data SIMs in newer guidelines).
Important Compliance
If the PTA system shows more than 5 voice SIMs on your CNIC, you must disown or block some at operator franchises; otherwise, excess/illegal SIMs can be blocked in cleanup drives. See our guide on blocking unauthorized SIMs for detailed steps.
What You See vs
What You Should Do
✅ Count Matches
If the count per operator matches what you actually use → just keep a record and recheck every few months.
⚠️ Extra SIMs Found
If you see extra SIMs (e.g. PTA says Jazz: 4 but you only use 2) → that means there are SIMs issued in your name that you never bought; you should visit that operator's franchise and request disowning/blocking of the unknown numbers. See our complete guide on blocking unauthorized SIMs.
Biometric Verification &
PTA's Role
PTA uses a Biometric Verification System (BVS), integrated with NADRA, for various SIM operations.
When BVS is Required
- New SIMs
- Duplicate SIMs
- Ownership change
- MNP (Mobile Number Portability)
- Re‑verification campaigns
Verification Process
You must verify via fingerprint at an operator's franchise; unverified or unregistered SIMs are periodically blocked in PTA cleanup campaigns.
