What Is PTA
SIM Verification?

PTA SIM verification is the process of checking how many mobile SIMs are registered on your CNIC and whether they comply with PTA rules using the official SIM Information System (668). This system helps you see all active SIMs per operator (Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone, etc.) and identify any numbers you never bought or used.

How to Check SIMs
on Your CNIC

METHOD 01
Check SIMs on CNIC via Website (cnicsimcheck.pk)
The web portal gives a clean table of SIM counts per network.
1 Open any browser and go to https://cnicsimcheck.pk
2 Enter your 13‑digit CNIC without dashes (e.g. 6110123456789)
3 Complete the CAPTCHA and submit
4 In a few seconds, a table will show total active SIMs on your CNIC and operator‑wise breakdown (Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone, sometimes SCO)
What you'll see: Compare the Zong/Jazz/Telenor/Ufone counts with how many SIMs you actually own; any extra values indicate unauthorized SIMs on your CNIC.
METHOD 02
Check SIMs on CNIC via SMS 668
If you don't have internet, use PTA's 668 SMS service.
1 Open the SMS app on any network
2 Type your 13‑digit CNIC (no spaces or dashes)
3 Send it to 668
4 You'll get an SMS showing the number of active SIMs per operator registered on your CNIC
Note: PTA introduced this "SIM Information System 668" specifically so subscribers can see how many SIMs exist against their CNIC and then visit operators to correct data if needed.

SIM Limits per
CNIC (PTA Rule)

PTA enforces a maximum of 5 voice SIMs per CNIC (plus a limited number of data SIMs in newer guidelines).

Important Compliance

If the PTA system shows more than 5 voice SIMs on your CNIC, you must disown or block some at operator franchises; otherwise, excess/illegal SIMs can be blocked in cleanup drives. See our guide on blocking unauthorized SIMs for detailed steps.

What You See vs
What You Should Do

✅ Count Matches

If the count per operator matches what you actually use → just keep a record and recheck every few months.

⚠️ Extra SIMs Found

If you see extra SIMs (e.g. PTA says Jazz: 4 but you only use 2) → that means there are SIMs issued in your name that you never bought; you should visit that operator's franchise and request disowning/blocking of the unknown numbers. See our complete guide on blocking unauthorized SIMs.

PTA's Guidance: PTA's own guidance says that if there is any discrepancy, the user should visit the Customer Service Center of the relevant mobile operator to get the data corrected.

Biometric Verification &
PTA's Role

PTA uses a Biometric Verification System (BVS), integrated with NADRA, for various SIM operations.

When BVS is Required

  • New SIMs
  • Duplicate SIMs
  • Ownership change
  • MNP (Mobile Number Portability)
  • Re‑verification campaigns

Verification Process

You must verify via fingerprint at an operator's franchise; unverified or unregistered SIMs are periodically blocked in PTA cleanup campaigns.

Step‑by‑Step: What To Do
If You Find Unknown SIMs

01

Take Screenshots / Save SMS

Save your cnicsimcheck.pk or 668 results as evidence. Take screenshots or save the SMS for reference.

02

Visit Operator Service Center

For each operator where the count is higher than expected, visit that operator's Customer Service Center/Franchise with your original CNIC.

03

Request Disowning / Blocking

Tell them you want to disown / block unauthorized SIMs on your CNIC and show PTA results.

04

Complete Biometric Verification

Complete biometric verification and the operator's disowning form; they will submit a request to block the unknown numbers.

05

Recheck After Few Days

After a few days, recheck via cnicsimcheck.pk or SMS 668 to confirm the extra SIMs are gone.

Yes. cnicsimcheck.pk is the official SIM Information System used to show all active SIMs per operator on your CNIC.
Q2. What's the difference between 668 and cnicsimcheck.pk?
Both use the same PTA backend; 668 gives results via SMS, and cnicsimcheck.pk shows a table in your browser.
Q3. How many SIMs can I have on one CNIC?
PTA currently allows up to 5 SIM cards per CNIC for normal users; if you already have 5, you must block one before getting a new SIM.
Q4. Can I see the actual numbers via 668?

Q5. Is the 668 SMS service free?
It's treated as a standard short‑code SMS; many packages treat it as free or very low cost, and PTA promotes it as an easy way to "protect your rights and secure yourself".
Q6. Do I still need biometric if I checked via 668?
Yes. 668 is only for information; any activation, disowning, or ownership change still requires biometric verification at operators' service centers.
